From first survey to final delivery

We take every project through the same careful stages, with a clear decision at each one, so that only sound, safe and responsible projects move forward.

Our approach

Five stages, one standard

Each stage builds on the evidence from the last. If the evidence is not there, the project does not move on.

  1. Explore

    We start with the ground itself. Geological mapping, rock and soil sampling and geophysical surveys show where minerals are most likely to be found.

  2. Evaluate

    Promising targets are drilled and tested. Qualified experts help us estimate the size and grade of a deposit and judge whether it can be mined responsibly and economically.

  3. Develop

    Before mining begins, we complete environmental and social impact assessments, secure our permits and agree with local communities how they will benefit.

    We mine and process ore with safe, efficient methods, monitor water, dust and noise throughout, and restore land progressively as work moves on.
